Event Details: Raiders of the Lost Ark

What could be a better start to the summer than a night of action and adventure (and snakes!) with the archeologist Indiana Jones? Directed by Steven Spielberg and written by George Lucas, the PG-rated films came on the heels of the creators’ successes of JAWS and Star Wars.

Raiders of the Lost Ark introduces us to the archeologist, Dr. Henry Walton “Indiana” Jones Jr. PhD, who is assigned by the U.S. government to locate the lost Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis do. The year is 1936. With the help of an old flame, Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen), Indy discovers the Ark in Egypt put is pursued by the Nazis, led by his nemesis, Dr. René Belloq. Kidnapping by the bad guys, close encounters with snakes and lots of hand to hand combat ensues.
