Celebrate International Women's Day with this free documentary screening, followed by a panel presentation.

Event Details:

New Mexico PBS, Santa Fe International Folk Art Market and The Lensic Performing Arts Center present this special, free screening in celebration of International Women's Day.

Audiences will screen 40 minutes of Half the Sky: Turning Oppression Into Opportunity for Women, a PBS documentary inspired by the book written by The New York Times' Nicholas Kristoff and Sheryl WuDunn's focused on women's economic empowerment.

This segment features actress Olivia Wilde visiting with Folk Art Market artist Rebecca Lolosoli in Kenya. The screening will be followed by a panel presentation, moderated by actress and Santa Fe resident Ali MacGraw. The panel will feature New Mexico women who are making a difference locally and worldwide.

Filmed in 10 countries, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, follows celebrity activists America Ferrera, Diane Lane, Eva Mendes, Meg Ryan, Gabrielle Union, and Oliva Wilde as they circle the globe to tell the stories of inspiring, courageous individuals. The total documentary time is four hours.
